America --- Megan Oosthoek

Hallo! ik ben Megan en ik ben negentien jaar oud.  Ik kom uit White Lake, Michigan en ik woon in Ann Arbor.  Ik studeer computer engineering aan de Universiteit van Michigan.  Ga blue!  Ik heb een ouder broer dat studeer computer science aan Universiteit van Noordelijk Michigan in Marquette.  In America,  is erg duur universiteit.  Zo, in mijn vrije tijd, werk twee banen ik.  's avonds, werk ik in een cafe en is niet zo leuk maar overdag ben ik een elektricien voor het theaters van de universiteit en het is heel makkelijk.  Ik heb ook enige tijd vrijdag en zaterdag om te spelen met mijn vrienden.

Mijn favoriete plek in campus zijn de "wave field."  Dit is een kunstwerk.

ik vind de "law quad" ook leuk.

Zwarte Piet:

I for one, do find Zwarte Piet to be insensitive to the Black community.  But, its not the most pressing racism out there.  There are still so many race issues in America, such as racial profiling and affirmative action,  that more directly and drastically affect our society then Zwarte Piet on the Netherlands.  It is rather hypocritical for America to frown upon this tradition.  Still though, it is not an excuse, I think that the only way everyone can truly be treated with equal respect regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation and so forth is for such things like Zwarte Piet to be seen only in the history books.
